CHORAL PROGRAM

First semester music selections will always reflect "A Celebration of the Christmas Season". Second semester music selections will alternate yearly between ”A Celebration of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs” and an ”ICCA Choir and Orchestra Pops Concert” featuring lighter classics, American favorites, popular music, show tunes, and film music.

The 2026/2027 spring concert will feature a “Celebration of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs”.

The fee for choir enrollment is charged per family. Prelude Choir, Con Spirito, and Concert Choral meet on Mondays from 2:00-2:50

$150.00 per family/per year 

There is an additional fee for Chamber Choir participation. Please review the class description for class time and fee.

Prelude Choir

Director: Amanda Ladwig

Prelude choir is a full year choral ensemble for students 5-8 years old. Students need no prior music or vocal training, and no audition is required. Prelude Choir will focus on developing singing skills and finding one’s God given singing voice. Using the Kodaly method of teaching music Prelude Choir members will learn posture for singing, breathing technique, beginning Solfege, and singing in unison or in canon (a round). Members of the program will perform selections for both the Christmas and Spring concerts.

Con Spirito

Director: Andi Dykstra

Con Spirito is a full year choral ensemble for students ages 8-12. Students need no prior music or vocal training, and no audition is required. Con Spirito (With Spirit-Lively) provides a fun, encouraging environment for each child to develop his God-given instrument, the voice, and to refine the necessary skills to belong to a musical ensemble. Musicianship, diction, Solfege, music literacy, and singing in 2 or 3 parts are all components of the Con Spirito experience.  Members of this program will perform selections for both the Christmas and Spring concerts.



Concert Chorale 

Director: Nathan Smith

Concert Chorale is a full year choral ensemble for students ages 12-Graduation. Students need no prior music or vocal training, and no audition is required. Concert Chorale provides a fun, encouraging and environment for each student to develop his God-given instrument, the voice, and to sharpen the necessary skills to belong to a musical ensemble and a confident worshiper!  Musicianship, diction, music literacy, and singing in 3 or 4 parts are all components of the Concert Chorale experience. Members of this program will perform selections for both the Christmas and Spring concerts.


Chamber Choir-Audition Only

Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble for advanced singers ages 14–Graduation who are committed to musical excellence. The choir’s mission is to pursue artistry that brings glory to God and inspires audiences through meaningful performance. Students receive training in sight-reading, score study, healthy vocal technique, and foundational music theory and ear training. The repertoire is written in four (SATB) or more parts and spans a variety of languages, styles, and historical periods. As a performance-driven ensemble, Chamber Choir shares its music in semester concerts and other local performance opportunities, giving students the opportunity to grow as confident, expressive performers. Chamber Choir is a full year commitment.

Prerequisite or Teacher Approval: Students are admitted to Chamber Choir by audition only and must be registered in Concert Chorale. Auditions will take place in August prior to the start of the program year.
