ART PROGRAM
All art classes use Drawing with Children as our foundational curriculum. Using various mediums to complete projects. Art I-IV meets on Mondays from 12:00-12:50. Art IV will meet on Mondays from 11:00-11:50. Students may be asked to purchase personal supplies for this class, but most supplies will be provided and are included in the fee.
Fee for Art I-III: $125.00 per student/per semester
Fee for Art IV: $150.00 per student/per semester
Art I
(Ages 5-8)

This class introduces young artists to the basic elements of art, including line, shape, color, texture, value, and design. Through engaging projects and various mediums, students will explore creativity in a fun and hands-on environment. There will be a Gallery Night near the end of the Spring semester where projects will be displayed.
Art II
(Ages 8-12)
Teacher: Eleanne Harder
In this course, young artists will develop and enhance their skills in the fundamental elements of art, including line, shape, color, texture, value, and design. Students will explore a variety of artistic mediums while learning techniques to bring their creativity to life. Additionally, the class will study both historical and contemporary artists, drawing inspiration from their unique styles to create original works of art. There will be a Gallery Night near the end of the Spring semester where projects will be displayed.
Art III
(Ages 12-14)
Teacher: Amelia Farrand
The young artist will continue developing skills in the basic elements of art including line, shape, color, texture, value, and form. More advanced drawing techniques will be introduced. The students will have opportunities to work in various mediums in this course. This class is created to continue the art education from Art III as well as being our foundational art class for new students ages 12 through 18. It is a year-long course. We will be learning the basic elements of art, focusing mainly on line and value. We will also introduce some of the advanced principles of design, (balance, proportion, perspective, harmony, etc.). Students will be exploring several types of drawing mediums, and introduced to graphite pencil. Occasional homework will be assigned. There will be a gallery night in the spring semester where projects will be displayed.
Art IV
(Ages 14-Graduation)
Teacher: Tracy Laverty
This class is created to continue the art education from Art III. We will also introduce some of the advanced principles of design, (balance, proportion, perspective, harmony, etc.). Students will be exploring several types of drawing mediums, but the heaviest emphasis will be in graphite pencil. Drawing will expand on principles developed in previous courses such as value, space, and form. Designed to help students train their eye, this course will explore in depth light theory, correct proportions, weight, volume, and tools to self-correct their drawings. Students will create multiple works of art to be displayed at the Spring Semester Gallery Night where attendance is mandatory. Homework will be assigned. There will be a gallery night in the spring semester where projects will be displayed.
